  2. Why Formally Basic Obedience Train your dog with a Professional? Pet Stores do not have legitimate Professional Dog Trainers or Quality Registered Breeders who work for minimum wage.Never buy or Train your Puppy Dog at a Pet Store. Why Train at all? Honestly,I cannot think of one good reason not to Train your dogs in Obedience.I can think of plenty of reasons to train a dog.Formal Basic obedience Training is like buying insurance for your dogs. The Training prevents problem behaviors from occuring.A trained dog and dog owner does not get into problems. In almost all(99.9%)cases,owners create dog behaviour problems. For example, when a dog jumps up on people, everyone pets it.When a puppy jumps on your legs,we pick them up.When it is jumping up in a playpen we give them attention. Then when they get too large, and knock over children, dirty clothing, scratch your back, scratch your neighbours Mercedes,etc... we get upset. Then a Trainer tells you 8 months later, after you hugged, kissed, and greeted your dog for scratching and jumping up,to noe knee him in the chest, step on his back toes, hold him up by his paws when he jumps up until he begs you to let him down. It's not fair is it? Would you encourage,or give permission to your children to do something for months, and then ground them or take away their allowence for the very same thing. This is just one small example of the many dumb things the Human mind does, and it is confusing the heck of the poor dog.Sometimes even making your poor dog think you are crazy and neurotic, and causing him to be nervous.
A Trained dog is a happy dog that feels usefull, important, and confident,as well as feeling at ease having a well educated and strong pack leader. That is why you need to take a couple of months to learn how to train your dog and get him Formally Obedience Trained, and NO you don't stand a realistic chance in doing it yourself by listening or watching others,or reading a book. When your dog gets to be an adult, bad habits have been going on for a very long time, and you think it is going to go away on its own,it gets much harder for you,the dog,the trainer, and people who used to come visit no longer visit. Then you can expect a Professional Trainer and neighbours say..."I told you so"!Train Them!!! Don't Blame Them!!!
